A Day at the Zoo..

Who would have thought that one of the last days of summer, a beautiful Friday afternoon...would be one of the most CROWDED days at the zoo I have EVER seen?  Regardless, we had loads of fun.  It was the first trip to the zoo where I decided to forgo the stroller...  We walked the entire zoo...I was amazed that they made it without too much complaining.  Sophia doesn't nap anymore and she feel asleep on the way home and once home, went straight upstairs and flopped on her bed.  Henry too.  Loved the day and loved the sleep :)

Weekend Fun

Dad was out of town for a "work trip"...(ahem, 3 rounds of golf, college football game, dinners out...need I say more?), we filled up the days!

This doesn't win me any mother of the year award BUT because our wonderful neighbor Jen was borrowing all of our dining chairs for a service at her house, we had our first dinner in front of the t.v. and it was great!  The kids had fun however I do not want to start any trends...

Mom's great idea to play fort...

...ended in about 2 minutes after a bonk in the head and some MAJOR tears.  I tried this about 6 months ago but Henry didn't get it and bonked his head over and over.  This time it was Sophia...  At what age is appropriate 'fort' play?  Seems like perfect fun to me!

First Day of School!

What a day!  Sophia had her first day of pre-k class and Henry had his FIRST day of pre-school...and they were great!  Yes, I tear up easy and have teared up every 'first day' of school so far but today, I did not.  I love love love being with my kids but it was the first time in 4 years that I had 2 1/2 hours to myself all without having to pay a babysitter!  I know they are in good hands, having fun, playing, playing, playing, and more playing.  What more could I ask for?
