A simple visit to the doctor about my 'margarita' hand...and we now have this wonderful picture of Henry. I only wish Sophia was there too (off to summer camp)...
For the past few summers I worry a bit as summer approaches. Will the kids have fun? Do we have enough activities planned? Too little?
Summer has been here for about 4 weeks now and I am loving it...no schedules, just waking up every day and deciding what to do with the kiddies. Well, Sophia did do camp last week for 4 mornings and we had to be there by 8:30am. Ugh. Yes, I can honestly say I was a bit cranky about the whole thing.
Summer is a nice break. Not meant to be crammed with too much to do to 'fill the time'. It is a time to enjoy the warm weather, play outside, take long bike rides, play in the sprinkler, go to the Botanic Gardens, go to the zoo, and of course, make our 12 mile ride to REI for lunch.
...too bad it is about 30 minutes away. Or, maybe it isn't such a bad thing? Boy, it was good! Sophia said she liked it better than her favorites here in town. Yum! Dad was so envious that we hit 31 Flavors that he had to make a late night run. What a nice way to top off a fun filled weekend full of motorcycles, birthdays and fun at the park.
I must say it brought back memories...rocky road, bubble gum ice cream and rainbow sherbert...
Who would have thought I would need to pull the kiddies away from the Botanic Gardens after 2 1/2 hours?? Beautiful day...fun with frogs...fun with ducks...fun with fish...fun with flowers...and fun with lime popsicles...summer fun here we come!
